J. Boguslawski 2013 RS Nominee

Julia Boguslawski

Vice President of Corporate Marketing, Bally Technologies

Julia Boguslawski has made the most of her six years in gaming, climbing the local ranks and making an impact on the companies where she’s worked and the industry as a whole.

Julia joined Bally Technologies in 2013 as part of the company’s acquisition of SHFL entertainment. As Vice President of Corporate Marketing for Bally, Julia oversees the company’s global marketing operations.

Julia started with SHFL in 2008 as the company’s Director of Investor Relations (IR). Over the next two years, she implemented the company’s Investor Relations program and expanded the department to include Corporate Communications, Public Relations, and Social Media. In 2010, SHFL recognized her accomplishments by promoting her to Vice President, making her the youngest Vice President at SHFL.

As Vice President of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications, Julia was responsible for consistent and frequent communication of SHFL’s strategies, products, and vision to its key constituents. She excelled at delivering a simple and compelling message about SHFL’s diverse product line so investors, the media, and employees all understood and got excited about who SHFL was and where it was going.

Her role contributed to SHFL’s rapid rise and success. During her tenure at SHFL, the Company’s market cap climbed from just over $300 million to just under a billion and the stock price grew from $6 in 2008 to just over $17 (as of June 2013).

At Bally, Julia has been overseeing the launch of the Company’s innovative gaming platforms and highly anticipated premium games, including TITANIC, ZZ Top Live From Texas, and The Magic of David Copperfield. She is passionate about aligning Bally’s marketing efforts with Sales and exploring targeted strategies and campaigns to maximize value. She is also managing the logistics and details of the largest gaming ooth at the 2014 Global Gaming Expo (G2E). In addition, she will direct marketing support of the company’s international offices as Bally expands internationally.

Julia not only has the vision to find a better way of doing things, but the leadership skills to turn her ideas into reality. At SHFL she initiated the revamping of all investor collateral, including a major overhaul of the IR website and investor deck, and implementing an IR iPhone app. In just her first few months at Bally, she led a popular rebrand of Bally’s major customer conference from Systems User Conference to EMPOWER as the event broadened to include games and table game products.

It’s no easy undertaking to lead marketing operations at a company that overnight added new product lines and international offices, but Julia is up to the task. With her IR background, she understands that when customers are happy, buy into the company’s vision and trust you, investors will follow. She is dedicated to communicating what makes Bally unique after its $1.3 billion acquisition of SHFL, which created the industry’s most diverse gaming manufacturer.

Prior to SHFL, Julia served four years with CNL Hotels & Resorts, Inc., first as a Senior Business Analyst and then as Manager of Investor Relations. Julia was a Rhodes Scholar State Finalist in Florida and holds an MBA from Rollins College’s Crummer Graduate School of Business. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Rollins College.

Julia’s impressive career trajectory has already caught the attention of the local business community. In March 2014, the Las Vegas Business Press selected her as a “Rising Star.” In 2013, Vegas Inc. named then 33-year-old Julia to its “40 Under 40” list.

Despite a demanding, fast-paced job, Boguslawski finds time to give back to the community. She served as a “Books & Buddies” reading mentor for Spread the Word Nevada. As someone who has loved reading since she was young, she strongly believes there’s no better gift that you can give a child than the gift of literacy.

Her hobbies include taking care of her two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, playing board games and trivia, traveling and running.
