Debi Nutton serves as Senior Vice President of Casino Operations and Marketing at MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
In her position, Nutton is responsible for all table games, slots, casino marketing, poker and race & sports book operations. This includes staffing, training and career development for a team of more than 1,300 employees.
Nutton began her career in hospitality in 1975 in food and beverage and hotel operations before finding a passion for gaming in 1979 when she became one of the first female craps dealers in Las Vegas. Nutton joined MGM Grand Resorts International in 1989 as a Pit Manager at the Mirage, where she was part of the pre-opening team. After a series of promotions, she joined the MGM Grand in 2001 as the Vice President of Casino Operations.
Nutton holds an Associate’s Degree in both Nursing and Medical Office Assisting from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Bellevue University. In 2010, she graduated from Leadership Las Vegas, an intensive, 10-month program sponsored by the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce that is devoted to strengthening and educating 48 community leaders.
A Gaming Key Employee license holder and member of the College of Southern Nevada Hospitality Management Advisory Board, she is a frequent guest lecturer for the UNLV Hospitality College. In addition, she is currently on the Advisory Board for G2E. In 2007, Nutton was named “Woman of Distinction” by the National Association of Women Business Owners for her work in the gaming, hospitality and convention services industry, and again in 2009 she was honored to receive Casino Enterprise Management’s Great Women of Gaming Proven Leader Award.
A volunteer for the Assistance League of Las Vegas, Nutton is active in community volunteer programs, including those that assist in cancer research and support education opportunities for at-risk children. She was recently selected to be the 2011 corporate walk chair for Light the Night, a walk to raise money for leukemia and lymphoma research
